    Columbus’ own Specialty Gas House & Buckeye Cruise for Cancer is proud to host the Central Ohio-based event, The Ohio Eggfest, on July 26th, at The Fortress Obetz in Obetz, Ohio! 

    The purpose of this event? A family friendly gathering of “foodies,” coming together to celebrate the greatest charcoal-based invention in culinary history – The Big Green Egg! It is a celebration and cooking, grilling, barbecue competition where all the food for the competition is cooked on The Big Green Egg grill. It is also an opportunity for those contemplating a Big Green Egg to sample food cooked on them and learn more about how they work.

    In other words, the EggFest is a good excuse to get a bunch of people together to sample and cook some great food. Big Green Egg aside, experience one of the nation's most unique live cooking competitions as talented cooks from across the country compete for the coveted People's Choice Award and the professionally judged "Very Prestigious Award, Award!" Along the way, guests can enjoy tasting samples of the competition dishes while supplies last.

    Fundraiser for Cancer Research

    What is better than sharing recipes and food, spreading the culture of culinary cuisine and offering our children a day of fun activities? Doing so for the advancement of cancer research and giving back to the future of the community that was so gracious as to host our event!

    100% of the proceeds from every ticket purchase, every egg sold, every personal and corporate donation, and proceeds generated otherwise through this event will benefit the Buckeye Cruise & OSUCCC – The James Cancer Hospital. We have now raised over $500,000.00 at The Ohio Eggfest!! Who knew that a day of BBQ, fun, and friends could do so much good!

    What does a ticket include?

    Each ticket includes admission to the Ohio Eggfest, live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, People’s Choice voting, vendors, and all festival activities. Throughout the event, participating cook teams prepare tasting samples of their competition dishes for guests to enjoy while supplies last.

    Throughout the day there will be all different types of food being cooked for the competition, from bbq to pizza to tacos and everything in between. There will also be live music, cooking demonstrations, giveaways, silent auctions and other fun activities. Even better than that, 100% of the proceeds from this event are donated to cancer research!

    The Ohio Eggfest is also an opportunity to purchase a once-used (day of the event) Big Green Egg for a HUGE discount. The Big Green Egg comes with the nest and “ConvEGGtor” (plate setter), 20lb bag of charcoal, and Kick Ash Basket! Each egg purchase also comes with (2) tickets to the event. 100% of the proceeds from your purchase will go straight to cancer research! You can pre-purchase these eggs at the link below. 

    Register a Cook Team

    Join us as a cook team and help us kick cancers butt together! Registration is free and open to everyone, with or without culinary experience. The Big Green Egg’s will be provided along with Big Green Egg charcoal. Teams can choose to cook whatever they would like (get creative!) and everything will have to be finished on The Big Green Egg. 

    Cooks will be competing to win the “People’s Choice” award, as well as a professionally (but silently) judged award, The Prestigious Award, Award. The silently judged award winner will win a $1,000 Gift Card to Specialty Gas House. The People’s Choice award winner will win a Large Big Green Egg package. There will also be a mystery meat challenge if you would like to compete in it. We will provide the meat for the challenge on the day of the event. Click the link below for more info.
