There is no entry fee it is FREE to enter a team. We do ask that you keep the team to no more than 6 people.  More people can be added to the team but they will just need to purchase a ticket. 

Every cook team will receive at least (1) Large Big Green Egg. Some teams may receive (2) and a few receive will receive (1) XL Big Green Egg. It is based on who signs up first and which size Egg your team prefers. If someone on your team purchases a demo egg or someone they know, your team will be guaranteed 2 eggs. 

Each team is allowed up to 6 cook team members. You are more than welcome to have more team members we just ask each additional member after (6)  purchase a ticket to the event. Remember, 100% of all ticket sales are donated to cancer research! 

We expect approximately 1,400–1,800 attendees. We recommend planning for around 1,000 tasting samples of your competition dish. If you run out, that’s okay, but more is always appreciated.

During these uncertain times, we completely understand if your team can no longer make the event. If something comes up, please let us know immediately by emailing us or giving us a call. That way we can fill your space as soon as possible. theohioeggfest@gmail.com

It is! Since this is a fundraiser that goes through our foundation, what you spend on the event will be tax-deductible. On the day of the event, if you provide us dated receipts for all of the food and supplies you bought for the event, we will hand you a signed form with the total of the receipts, stating you made a charitable contribution, which will then be tax-deductible under Internal Revenue Code regulations.

Yes, there will be outlets that you can use throughout the event. Please let us know if you will be needing power. 

Cooking can begin as early as 7:00pm on Friday, July 24th. Your team should start cooking no later than 9:00am on Saturday, July 25th. You are more than welcome to do an overnight cook. 

The event starts at 10am and tasting begins at 10:30am. So anytime between 10-10:30am would be ideal. The cooking portion of the event ends around 3:00pm, so the closer you can continue to serve until 3-3:30pm the better. 

We provide at least 1 Big Green Egg to cook on and we will also light the Big Green Egg for you. Also provided will be, Big Green Egg charcoal, convEGGtor (Platesetter, which is the indirect heat plate used for smoking, baking, roasting, etc), a 10×10 space which is covered, a table used for serving, small 2oz souffle cups, garbage cans.

Besides the obvious of the food you’ll be cooking, some items that you may want to bring are:

• Tables for prep
• Grilling utensils
• Fire gloves
• Food grade gloves 
• If you don’t want to use souffle cups bring what you would like to serve in, (plates, boats, – toothpicks, serving utensils etc)
• Chafing Dishes to keep food warm
• Coolers for food & drinks
• Lawn chairs, seating
• Signage with menu
• Promo Material
• Cutting Boards
• Canopies for promotion (You will be under cover so no canopies are needed)

If you want to bring personal Big Green Eggs to cook on you can certainly bring them with you! You will still receive the Big Green Egg that we normally provide. 

That is completely up to you! A Big Green Egg can cook almost anything you throw at it. You can cook anything from bbq to pizza to desserts. There is no rule on what you can or cannot cook. Your competition dish will be finished on the Big Green Egg and can be served as tasting samples throughout the event. You only need to cook 1 thing but if you want to do multiple items feel free to!

Yes, you can. Feel free to prepare sauces, do all of your cutting and more at home. We just ask that your food is finished on the Big Green Egg. 

The Ohio Eggfest is first and foremost a friendly cooking competition benefiting cancer research. Cook teams compete for both the People’s Choice Award and the professionally judged Prestigious Award, Award.
